Spring

Spring in the Maine backcountry means an awakening of nature. Wildlife viewing and birding during the spring migration can be spectacular!

Exceptional fly fishing is available at Grand Falls in the springtime.

Our Grand Falls Hut is available to accomodate anglers in April, May and early June as a self-service destination. This is an excellent time for some quality trout and salmon fishing in the Dead River and the exceptional native brook trout fishing in nearby streams. Anglers find the hut’s proximity to the river makes Grand Falls an ideal base for their spring fishing adventures. Being a self-service time of the year means the prices are very low. Bringing your own food and being able to prepare it when ever you wish means more uninterupted time on the river. Many local guides are available to guide you to the very best fishing spots (www.kingfisherriverguides.com).  Poplar Stream, adjacent to the Poplar Stream Hut, also offers anglers an opportunity to fish for native brook trout.

SPRING AND FALL SELF-SERVICE SEASONS

Our fall self-service season began November 1st and will conclude on December 16th. We welcome reservations during these times, but reduce the services offered.  No meals are served, so guests should bring their own food and prepare it in the hut kitchen.  Guests are expected to clean up after themselves. A caretaker will be at the huts to keep all systems operating, keep the stoves stoked, and greet guests. Reservations are required for overnight stays.

MEMBERS – $30 plus tax per night
