The Maine Huts & Trails community is made up of people who share a common interest in enjoying the outdoors and are passionate about protecting it for future generations. This extends well beyond the trail and the huts and includes the health of environment and the spirit of the people who enjoy these special places. We are continually looking for ways to exchange ideas about our shared passion and we encourage you to join us and become an active member.

You can visit for the day, overnight, or visit for a week..the memories will last a lifetime. And whether it's over dinner at the hut, with a posting to a blog or by writing a nationally recognized news article, we encourage you to share your experiences with others.

Through generous donation of time and talent, we have attracted numerous programs and events this summer, which celebrate the richness of the outdoors, the heritage of the region and provide a forum for meeting others who share in our passions.

The community response to our green approach to building has been tremendous, and we believe that the huts and trails serve as a model of environmentally sensitive economic development.  Our members can be proud that together we are creating a 180-mile hut to hut system for today and forever in western Maine.
