Volunteer

Volunteers are a life line for non-profit organizations and our success is directly related to the enthusiasm and dedication of our volunteers. Volunteering is also a great way to get out on the trails and into the huts and become a vital part of our growing community of outdoor enthusiasts.

HUT AMBASSADORS -Volunteers are needed at the huts to give staff an opportunity to prepare and serve lunches on Saturday and Sunday between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Ski, Snowshoe, hike or bike out to one of our locations for lunch on us!  In exchange, we ask that Ambassadors greet arriving visitors, direct them to facilities, assist with retail sales and membership sales and provide information regarding our overall project.  If you would like to volunteer for both a Saturday and Sunday, stay overnight for just the cost of meals! ($25.00)

OFFICE – Volunteers are needed periodically to help staff our store area in the Kingfield office. We also have occasional office projects whereby help is needed.

EVENTS – Volunteers are needed to assist staff during special events. Duties may include serving meals, clearing & cleaning the dining room, dish detail, and general cleaning of the hut. If you are volunteering for a large event your meals and overnight accommodations will be our gift to you for helping us. Breakfast is served at 7:00 am and dinner is served at 6:00 pm.

TRAIL Volunteers – Trail projects range from light to heavy and demanding. Volunteers will be guided by the trail crew so all levels of experience are welcome and the necessary training and tools will be provided. Each volunteer is asked to wear appropriate boots and bring gloves, bug repellant, water and food. Volunteers on site for an entire day will be recognized with a MH&T hat.  Groups welcome!
