Grand Falls Fly Fishing School Just Ten Days Away!

Fisherman wades the Dead River near Grand Falls Hut

We are now just 10 days from the July Fly Fishing School to be held at Grand Falls Hut July 14th & 15th. There are still some openings for those interested.

There is no better place to learn how to fly fish than on classic trout and salmon waters such as the Dead River in beautiful western Maine. There are also no better fly fishing instructors than our local registered Maine guides, Todd Towle, Bob Dionne and Bob Duport. Todd Towle, who oversees the school, started Kingfisher River Guides in Kingfield Maine as way to build a life around his passion for fly fishing. His ability to share experiences and skills with clients is attributed to the culmination of over a decade of guiding and numerous trips and seasons throughout northern New England, the American West, and Alaska. Todd, Bob and Bob will supply all hardware equipment, terminal tackle, waders and boots. We will outfit every student with everything he or she needs to be on the water. As a student, Todd, Bob and Bob will teach you the following:

  • Casting basics.
  • Equipment overview.
  • Knots.
  • Flies and fly selection.
  • Entomology.
  • Wading safety.
  • Ethics and etiquette.
  • Proper fish handling.
  • Putting it all together.
