Here at Maine Huts & Trails, a primary focus of our effort is to bring environmentally-sensitive economic development to the towns and communities located along our trail corridor and, eventually, throughout western Maine. One of the ways we’re creating local economic development is through the purchase of goods and supplies. Purchasing local food and supplies not only makes good business sense, it is also the most environmentally-sensitive thing to do. In order to maximize our economic impact, we’re continually looking for local providers from whom we can buy the food and supplies we use to run our system. We are happy if we can fill all of our needs from suppliers in Maine, but even happier if we can find suppliers closer to home in Franklin or Somerset County.
