
Backcountry Hospitality at its Best
Our off-the-grid facilities offer all of the services you need to enjoy the Maine backcountry with minimal packing.
Here’s what we provide for:
Day Visitors
- Lunch is available from 11:30 – 1:00 every day. The menu generally includes soup, chili, baked goods, coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
- Wine and beer are available for purchase and consumption at the huts.
- Toilet facilities, potable water and a space for indoor relaxation
- Maps and souvenirs are available for purchase at the huts. (We recommend you purchase or download a map before embarking on your adventure. Maps are available at our office in Kingfield, or here.)
Overnight Visitors
- A hearty, family-style dinner and breakfast (included in the cost of your overnight stay)
- Bagged lunches are available for an additional fee
- Wine and beer are available for purchase and consumption at the huts.
- Bunk with a soft foam mattress
- Pillow (please supply your own pillowcase – hint: can double as a stuff sack)
- Fleece blanket
- Heat! (the main hut and bunkhouses each have radiant heat)
- Lighting
- Potable water
- Showers and biodegradable soap
- Composting toilets (and toilet paper)
- Books and games in our library area
- Member benefit: Canoe and kayak privileges at Flagstaff Hut (based on availability)
- Member benefit: Snowshoes at huts (based on availability)
