During our full-service summer and fall seasons, guests are allowed to bring their dogs (limit of 2 per hut per night) with them to our Poplar and Flagstaff Hut locations at a cost of $20 per dog per night. Our four-legged friends will be provided with a dog bed; bowl and use of the dog-runs upon check-in. Advance reservations are required and are made based on availability on a first-come, first-served basis.
The details of this policy are below:
- On a daily basis, 2 rooms will be made available to guests who wish to bring their dog(s) for an overnight stay. The rooms are #1 and #3 at our Poplar location and #4 and #7 at our Flagstaff location. No other rooms may be substituted.
- Only 2 dogs may be at the hut on any given night. If one person makes reservations and wants to bring two dogs, that one reservation fills the quota for that evening. If 2 people make reservations and they want to bring their dogs, they are each entitled to bring 1 dog.
- Dogs may not enter the main lodge at any time per Maine State Food and Beverage Law.
- Dogs must be on a leash or under voice command at all times.
- All dog waste on trails or in common areas around the hut must be picked up and packed out by the owner.
- Dogs are not to be left alone in the bunkroom. Dogs should be put on one of the two runs available when guests must leave their rooms. Dogs may not be left on the run overnight. Any damage caused to the guest room shall be paid for by the owner of the dog.
- If your dog is disruptive and his/her behavior jeopardizes the other guests ability to have a wonderful experience while at the hut, at the very least he/she would not be welcomed back, with the worst case being that this privilege could be discontinued. Dog owners are directly responsible for the continuation of this offering.
*Please be advised that we cannot allow dogs on our trails during the winter season between the dates of October 15th and April 15th.
