    Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are a life-line for non-profit organizations and our success is directly related to the enthusiasm and dedication of our volunteers.

To express your interest in helping, please contact Barbara Nickerson our Office Manager at (207) 265-2400 or e-mail your interest to bnickerson@mainehuts.org.

TRAIL Volunteers
You will be guided by the trail crew so all levels of experience are welcome, and the needed tools will be provided. The Trail crew can use as many volunteers as we can find. Each volunteer is asked to bring gloves, boots, fly dope, water, and lunch. Trail volunteers will each receive a MH&T hat or T-Shirt as our thank you.

There are 3 organized Trail Days: June 7 th, July 12 th and August 9 th. These are focus days but volunteers are needed everyday so contact us and we will put you to work.

Sugarloaf Homecoming Craft Fair – October 11

Volunteers for these projects will receive a Maine Huts & Trails artisan T-shirt or embroidered logo hat as our thank you.

HUT Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to assist staff during special events. It would include helping to serve meals, clear and clean the dining room, help with dish detail and general cleaning of the HUT. If there is a large event and you agree to volunteer, your meals and over night accomodations will be our gift to you for helping us. Breakfast is served at 7:00 am. And dinner is served at 6:00 p.m. If this is something you would like to help with, we will add you to our HUT volunteer list and contact you as our special events fall into place.

HUT volunteers are needed on a daily basis to give the staff an opportunity to do outdoor HUT projects. It would involve being at the HUT between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The duties would involve serving lunch and clean-up of dining and kitchen areas, greeting guests and general clean-up of the HUT. There will be 2 shifts 10 to 1 and 1 to 4. We would welcome anyone who would like to do a full day. Enjoy lunch on us!
